🍫Christmas Crack (Saltine Toffee)

Ingredients

40–48 saltine crackers (enough to cover a baking sheet)

1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter

1 cup brown sugar (light or dark)

2 cups semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips

Christmas sprinkles (red, green, white)

Optional toppings: crushed candy canes, chopped pecans, sea salt

Instructions

  1. Prep pan

Preheat oven to 400°F (205°C).

Line a rimmed baking sheet with foil and spray lightly.

Arrange saltine crackers in a single layer, edge to edge.

  1. Make toffee

In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and brown sugar.

Bring to a boil and boil 3 minutes, stirring constantly.

  1. Pour & bake

Carefully pour hot toffee over crackers, spreading evenly.

Bake 5 minutes until bubbly.

  1. Add chocolate

Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips over the top.

Let sit 2 minutes, then spread smooth.

  1. Decorate

Immediately add Christmas sprinkles (and any extras).

  1. Set & break

Cool completely, then refrigerate 30–45 minutes until firm.

Break into pieces and serve.

Tips for Success

Don’t underboil the toffee—it needs the full 3 minutes

Use foil, not parchment (toffee sticks better to parchment)

Sprinkle toppings while chocolate is still warm

Fun Variations

White chocolate drizzle on top

Dark chocolate + sea salt

Peanut butter chips mixed with chocolate

Grinch-style (green sprinkles + red hearts)
