Steak with Bell Peppers & Onion – Easy Skillet Recipe
Ingredients
4 steaks (ribeye, sirloin, or flank)
2 bell peppers, sliced into strips (any colors)
1 medium onion, sliced
2 tsp olive oil
1 tsp ground cumin
Optional but recommended:
– 2 cloves garlic, minced
– 1 tsp paprika
– Salt & black pepper to taste
– Splash of soy sauce or Worcestershire (for extra flavor)
Instructions
- Season the steaks
Pat dry the steaks.
Rub with cumin, salt, pepper, and a little olive oil.
Let rest for 10–15 minutes.
- Cook the veggies
Heat 1 tsp olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Add the onion and bell peppers.
Stir-fry for 5–7 minutes until softened and slightly charred.
Season with a pinch of salt and paprika (optional).
Transfer to a plate.
- Sear the steaks
In the same skillet, add the remaining olive oil.
Cook steaks 3–4 minutes per side for medium (adjust to your liking).
Add garlic during the last minute for flavor.
Let the steaks rest for 5 minutes.
- Combine
Return peppers & onions to the pan.
Add a splash of soy sauce or Worcestershire if you like.
Toss everything together for 1–2 minutes.
- Serve
Slice the steaks (if using flank or sirloin) or serve whole. Spoon the peppers & onions on top.
Delicious with rice, mashed potatoes, or bread.
