Dubai Chocolate Balls (Pistachio Kunafa Truffles)

A luxurious Middle Eastern–inspired treat that combines the nutty crunch of pistachios, the golden crispness of kunafa (kataifi), and the silky smoothness of chocolate. These bite-sized delights are perfect for special occasions, festive tables, or simply indulging with coffee.

✨ Ingredients

200 g kunafa dough (kataifi), shredded

2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted

150 g pistachios, finely chopped

200 g dark or milk chocolate (your choice)

1 tbsp heavy cream (optional, for smoother texture)

Extra crushed pistachios, for garnish

👩‍🍳 Method

1️⃣ Toast the Kunafa

Preheat oven to 170°C (340°F).

Spread shredded kunafa on a baking sheet, drizzle with melted butter, and bake for 8–10 minutes until golden and crispy. Let cool.

2️⃣ Make the Filling

Crush the toasted kunafa and mix with finely chopped pistachios.

Shape into small bite-sized balls, gently pressing the mixture together.

3️⃣ Coat in Chocolate

Melt chocolate with cream (if using) until smooth.

Dip each kunafa-pistachio ball into the melted chocolate, coating fully.

4️⃣ Garnish & Set

Place on parchment paper, sprinkle with crushed pistachios, and let set at room temperature or refrigerate until firm.
