Copycat Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes
Soft vanilla snack cakes filled with fluffy cream, dipped in white chocolate, and decorated with festive sprinkles—just like the classic holiday treat!
Ingredients
For the Cake
1 cup all-purpose flour
½ cup sugar
½ cup butter, softened
2 large eggs
½ cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon baking powder
Pinch of salt
For the Vanilla Cream Filling
½ cup butter, softened
1 cup powdered sugar
1 tablespoon milk
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
For the Coating
1½ cups white chocolate chips or vanilla melting wafers
Red and green sprinkles
Instructions
- Make the Cake
- Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F).
- Line a baking sheet or shallow pan with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until light and creamy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well. Stir in the vanilla.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk, until smooth.
- Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the top springs back when touched.
- Let the cake cool completely.
- Cut Into Tree Shapes
- Once cooled, gently lift the cake from the pan.
- Use a Christmas tree cookie cutter to cut out shapes.
- Pair up the trees—you need two pieces per sandwich.
- Make the Vanilla Cream Filling
- Beat the softened butter until smooth.
- Add powdered sugar and mix until fluffy.
- Add milk and vanilla; beat until light and creamy.
- Spread a generous layer of filling onto one tree-shaped cake and top with another.
- Coat the Cakes
- Melt the white chocolate or wafers in a microwave or double boiler until smooth.
- Dip each filled cake into the melted coating, gently tapping off excess.
- Place on parchment paper.
- Decorate
Immediately add red and green sprinkles before the coating sets.
You can also drizzle extra melted red or green chocolate on top for the iconic tree stripes.
- Let Set & Serve
