Christmas Sugar Cookie Loaf with Vanilla Sprinkle Glaze

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 2 tbsp milk (for glaze)
  • Holiday sprinkles

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a loaf pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until the mixture is fluffy and light in color.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add the vanilla extract. Continue mixing until the batter is glossy.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with the 1/2 cup of milk, until just combined and smooth.
  6. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared loaf pan and gently tap the pan on the counter to settle the batter.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 to 55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean with a few moist crumbs.
  8. Once baked, remove the loaf from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Then, transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. For the glaze, whisk together the powdered sugar and 2 tablespoons of milk in a small bowl until smooth.
  10. Drizzle the glaze over the warm loaf and top with holiday sprinkles for a festive finish.
