Best Soft Christmas Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 2 3⁄4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1⁄2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1⁄4 teaspoon salt

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
  3. In another bowl, cream together the butter and sugars using an electric mixer until the mixture is light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the butter and sugar mixture, and mix well until fully incorporated.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Avoid over-mixing to ensure the cookies remain soft.
  6. Using a spoon or a cookie scoop, drop spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them a couple of inches apart to allow for spreading during baking.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes or until the edges of the cookies are lightly golden.
  8. Once baked, allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
