Honey Lemon Turmeric Gummies π―πβ¨
Naturally sweet, tart, and packed with immune-supporting ingredients, these homemade gummies are simple, delicious, and made without gelatin thanks to agar-agar.
Ingredients
1.5 cups (355 ml) fresh filtered water
ΒΌ cup (60 ml) fresh lemon juice
Β½ cup (170 g) raw honey
2 tablespoons (14 g) agar-agar powder
1 teaspoon (2 g) ground turmeric
Β½ teaspoon (1 g) ground ginger (optional)
Instructions
- Heat the liquids
In a medium saucepan, combine the water, lemon juice, and raw honey.
Warm over medium-low heat, whisking gently until the honey fully dissolves. Do not let it boil yet.
- Mix the dry ingredients
In a small bowl, whisk together the agar-agar powder, turmeric, and optional ground ginger.
This helps prevent clumping when you add it to the liquid.
- Cook the mixture
Slowly sprinkle the dry mixture into the saucepan while whisking continuously.
Increase heat to medium and bring to a gentle boil, stirring often.
Once it starts boiling, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for 5 minutes to fully activate the agar.
- Pour into molds
Remove from heat and carefully pour the hot mixture into silicone gummy molds or a shallow dish.
Use a dropper for cleaner filling if needed.
- Set and chill
Allow the gummies to cool at room temperature for 10β15 minutes, then transfer to the refrigerator for 1β2 hours, or until fully firm.
- Remove and store
Pop gummies out of the molds.
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
