Festive Millionaire Shortbread Christmas Trees
Delightfully rich and buttery, these charming shortbread Christmas trees are layered with velvety caramel and luscious dark chocolate, making them the perfect treat to share during the holiday season. 🎄✨

🥯 Base Ingredients

  • 225g (1 ¾ cups) All-Purpose Flour
  • 75g (⅓ cup) Granulated Sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon Salt
  • 175g (¾ cup) cold and cubed Unsalted Butter

🍬 Caramel Layer

  • 397g (1 can) Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • 2 tablespoons Golden Syrup
  • 50g (¼ cup) Unsalted Butter
  • 50g (¼ cup) Granulated Sugar
  • Pinch Salt

🍫 Chocolate Topping

  • 200g (7 oz) good quality Dark Chocolate
  • 1 teaspoon Vegetable Oil

🎉 Decorations

  • Green Candy Melts for decorating
  • Sprinkles for decorating

👩‍🍳 Directions
➡️ Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C). In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt until well mixed.
➡️ Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Press firmly into an ungreased 9×13 inch baking pan and prick all over with a fork.
➡️ Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until lightly golden.
➡️ Meanwhile, in a saucepan, combine sweetened condensed milk, golden syrup, butter, sugar, and a pinch of salt. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring constantly, until thickened and golden-brown, about 15-20 minutes.
➡️ Once the shortbread is baked, pour the caramel over the warm base and spread it evenly.
➡️ Melt dark chocolate with vegetable oil, stirring until smooth, then pour it over the caramel layer.
➡️ While the chocolate is still wet, decorate with green candy melts and sprinkles for a festive touch.
➡️ Refrigerate for at least 2 hours until set.
➡️ Finally, use a Christmas tree cookie cutter to cut out the treats. Alternatively, cut into squares and triangles to form Christmas trees. Enjoy the festive magic!
