Brie & Cranberry Puff Pastry Tree 🌲🧀🍒
A festive, flaky, cheesy centerpiece—perfect for holiday snacking!
Ingredients (Serves 8)
2 sheets puff pastry, thawed
½ cup whole berry cranberry sauce (or ½ cup dried cranberries softened in warm water)
1 small wheel of Brie cheese (about 6–8 oz), sliced or cubed
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Optional garnish: fresh rosemary, powdered sugar, or extra cranberry sauce for dipping
Instructions
- Prepare the Base
- Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
- Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Lay one puff pastry sheet on the pan. Using a sharp knife, lightly score or cut out a large Christmas tree shape (triangle with a trunk).
- Place the Brie slices/cubes evenly across the tree, then spoon cranberry sauce over the cheese.
- Add the Second Layer
- Place the second sheet of puff pastry over the first, covering the fillings.
- Press gently around the edges to seal.
- Cut out the same tree shape following the bottom layer. Remove the excess pastry from around the tree.
- Create the “Branches”
- Using a knife, cut horizontal lines on both sides of the tree (like branches), leaving the center intact.
- Twist each strip carefully 2–3 times to form spiral branches.
- Add Shine
- Brush the entire tree with the beaten egg wash for that golden, flaky finish.
- Bake
Bake for 18–22 minutes, until puffed, golden, and the cheese is melted inside.
- Serve
Allow it to cool for 5 minutes.
Garnish with rosemary for a “pine” look or dust lightly with powdered sugar for a snowy effect.
Serve warm with extra cranberry sauce on the side.
