1 12-count package Hawaiian rolls
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 pound lean ground beef
1 small white onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
¾ cup ketchup
1 tablespoon brown sugar
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon chili powder
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 cup water
¼ cup butter
1 tablespoon brown sugar

PREPARATION STEPS
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Without separating the rolls, cut the entire loaf horizontally and place the bottoms in a 9×13-inch pan. Sprinkle with half of the cheese. Set aside.

To make the sloppy joe meat, heat olive oil over medium-high heat
Cook ground beef and diced onion until the beef is cooked through and the onion has softened
Drain off excess fat
