½ tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
½ tsp smoked paprika (optional)
6 brat buns (optional, for serving)
👩‍🍳 Instructions
1️⃣ Preheat Oven
Preheat to 375°F (190°C).
2️⃣ Caramelize the Onions
In a large oven-safe skillet or Dutch oven, heat butter and olive oil over medium heat.
Add onions and cook 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until soft and golden.

3️⃣ Brown the Brats
Nestle brats into the onions.
Brown lightly, about 2 minutes per side.

Pour in beer, scraping up browned bits.
Stir in Worcestershire sauce, Dijon (if using), salt, pepper, and smoked paprika.
5️⃣ Oven Braise
Cover with lid or foil and transfer to oven.
Bake 30–40 minutes, flipping brats halfway through.
6️⃣ Crisp (Optional)
Remove cover and broil 3–5 minutes until nicely browned.
7️⃣ Serve
Serve on buns with onions, or with mashed potatoes and sauerkraut.
💡 Tips
For non-alcoholic, replace beer with beef or chicken broth
Let onions cook longer for deeper sweetness
Great with spicy mustard, sauerkraut, or pickles
