Spicy Beef Noodles
Ingredients
12 oz (340 g) flat noodles (lo mein, rice noodles, or linguine)
1 lb (450 g) ground beef
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon ginger, minced (optional)
¼ cup soy sauce
2 tablespoons oyster sauce
1 tablespoon chili oil (adjust to taste)
1 tablespoon hoisin sauce (optional)
1 teaspoon sugar
½ teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 tablespoon cornstarch + 2 tablespoons water (optional, for thick sauce)
Sesame seeds, for garnish
Green onions, chopped (optional)
Instructions
1️⃣ Cook the Noodles
Cook noodles according to package instructions.
Drain and set aside.
2️⃣ Cook the Beef
Heat oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat.
Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.
3️⃣ Add Aromatics
Add garlic and ginger.
Cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
4️⃣ Make the Sauce
Stir in soy sauce, oyster sauce, chili oil, hoisin sauce, sugar, black pepper, and sesame oil.
If you want a thicker sauce, add the cornstarch slurry.
5️⃣ Combine with Noodles
Add cooked noodles to the pan.
Toss everything together until noodles are well coated and glossy.
6️⃣ Finish
Cook for another 1–2 minutes.
Sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions.
