Italian Sausage with Peppers and Onions 🌶️🌭

Ingredients

4 Italian sausages (mild or spicy)

2 bell peppers, sliced (any color)

1 large onion, sliced

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 teaspoon garlic powder

½ teaspoon dried oregano

Salt and black pepper, to taste

Optional: red pepper flakes for heat


Instructions

1️⃣ Cook the Sausages

Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Add the sausages and cook, turning occasionally, until browned on all sides and cooked through (about 10–12 minutes).

Remove sausages from the pan and set aside.

2️⃣ Cook the Peppers & Onions

In the same skillet, add the remaining olive oil.

Add sliced peppers and onions.

Season with garlic powder, oregano, salt, and pepper.

Sauté for 6–8 minutes until soft and slightly caramelized.

3️⃣ Combine & Finish

Slice the sausages and return them to the skillet.

Toss everything together and cook for 2–3 minutes so the flavors blend.


🍽️ Serve

Serve hot on its own, over rice, with mashed potatoes, or inside a toasted hoagie roll 🥖

Add mustard or melted cheese if you like 😋
