Caramelized Pear and Brie Snowflake Puffs ❄️🍐🧀

Flaky, buttery puff pastry filled with warm caramelized pears and melty Brie—these little snowflake-shaped bites are elegant, cozy, and perfect for holiday gatherings.

Ingredients

1 sheet puff pastry, thawed

1 ripe pear, thinly sliced

100g Brie cheese, rind removed and cubed

1 tbsp butter

1 tbsp brown sugar or honey

½ tsp cinnamon (optional)

1 egg (for egg wash)

Powdered sugar or honey for drizzling (optional)

Instructions

  1. Caramelize the Pears
  2. In a small skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  3. Add the pear slices, brown sugar (or honey), and cinnamon.
  4. Cook for 5–7 minutes, stirring gently, until the pears soften and the syrup thickens.
  5. Set aside to cool slightly.

  1. Prepare the Puff Pastry
  2. Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F).
  3. Roll out the puff pastry sheet slightly and cut into 9–12 squares (depending on your size).
  4. On each square, place a small spoonful of caramelized pears and a cube of Brie.

  1. Shape into Snowflakes

Bring the corners of each pastry square together toward the center and pinch to seal.

Use a sharp knife to make small decorative cuts along the edges if you want the snowflake look.

Brush the tops with egg wash for a golden finish.

  1. Bake

Transfer to a baking sheet lined with parchment.

Bake for 15–18 minutes, or until puffed and beautifully golden.

  1. Finish & Serve

Serve warm as they are, or drizzle lightly with honey or a dusting of powdered sugar for a sweet touch.

Garnish with fresh thyme if serving savory-style.

Tips

✨ Use apples instead of pears for a variation.
✨ Add a small spoonful of cranberry sauce for a festive, tangy twist.
✨ Bake ahead, then reheat in the oven for 5 minutes before serving.
