Caramelized Pear and Brie Snowflake Puffs ❄️🍐🧀
Flaky, buttery puff pastry filled with warm caramelized pears and melty Brie—these little snowflake-shaped bites are elegant, cozy, and perfect for holiday gatherings.
Ingredients
1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
1 ripe pear, thinly sliced
100g Brie cheese, rind removed and cubed
1 tbsp butter
1 tbsp brown sugar or honey
½ tsp cinnamon (optional)
1 egg (for egg wash)
Powdered sugar or honey for drizzling (optional)
Instructions
- Caramelize the Pears
- In a small skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add the pear slices, brown sugar (or honey), and cinnamon.
- Cook for 5–7 minutes, stirring gently, until the pears soften and the syrup thickens.
- Set aside to cool slightly.
- Prepare the Puff Pastry
- Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F).
- Roll out the puff pastry sheet slightly and cut into 9–12 squares (depending on your size).
- On each square, place a small spoonful of caramelized pears and a cube of Brie.
- Shape into Snowflakes
Bring the corners of each pastry square together toward the center and pinch to seal.
Use a sharp knife to make small decorative cuts along the edges if you want the snowflake look.
Brush the tops with egg wash for a golden finish.
- Bake
Transfer to a baking sheet lined with parchment.
Bake for 15–18 minutes, or until puffed and beautifully golden.
- Finish & Serve
Serve warm as they are, or drizzle lightly with honey or a dusting of powdered sugar for a sweet touch.
Garnish with fresh thyme if serving savory-style.
